The Glorious People's Republic of China has pledged to punish hackers who attacked Google, if the Evil Capitalist pigs can prove that the attack originated in China.

The Chinese say that despite all the howling and wringing of hands, Google has yet to actually pop around to its coppers and make an official complaint. Google declared it would stop censoring Chinese search results, and threatened to pull out of China over hacking and censorship concerns.

Vice Minister Miao Wei was quoted as saying by state news agency Xinhua that if Google has had evidence that the attacks came from China, the Chinese government will welcome them to provide the information and will severely punish the offenders according to the law.

He said that the Chinese did not support hacking attacks because China also falls victim to hackers. Google also never informed the ministry that it was planning to withdraw from China.
