Samsung’s first Galaxy glasses step out of the shadows

by on20 November 2025

Leaked model number points to specs that echo Meta’s smart specs

Samsung’s next swing at mixed reality looks set to be a pair of glasses with model number SM-O200P.

The “O” in the tag tells us this is not another headset in the Galaxy XR line whose own code swaps that letter for an “I”.

Samsung’s debut glasses are tipped to resemble Meta’s Ray-Ban specs, and earlier chatter claimed the Korean giant would drop a screen-free model in 2026, followed by a screened version in 2027.

The first pair reportedly uses Transitions lenses, which darken in sunlight and clear indoors. Transitions belongs to EssilorLuxottica, which makes Ray-Ban, so it will be worth watching whether Samsung chooses the same branded lenses or a photochromic alternative.

Like Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses, these Samsung specs are said to pack a camera, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, although Samsung appears ready to throw in mobile data, which Meta skips.

Samsung has already filed the Galaxy Glasses name which sounds a strong contender for the final badge.

The glasses are expected to land in the US and spread to other markets, although details outside the US remain unknown.
