Sources tell us of some high level meetings that have been taking place recently between the Jobs mob and the folks at AMD. According to our deep throated talker, these meetings have been held to at least examine the possibility of using AMD products in some of the current Apple offerings. Of course, this goes hand in hand with the rumored general unhappiness of fruit nation with the Intel integrated graphics offerings that are part of a good number of Apple’s current offerings.

In addition to the unhappiness with the Intel integrated graphics, Apple is also said to think that Intel has slowed their development cycle and new products are not coming out quickly enough. In addition, Apple is said to be examining AMD’s Fusion technology, which could be a lot of what Apple is looking at, as it would seem that it does make sense for many Apple products.

Of course there is idle talk from other sources claiming to be familiar with the situation that right now there are more “technology briefings” than anything else; and any thought that Apple might switch to AMD products going forward is pure speculation. We have reached out for comment, but so far we have received nothing that would seem to confirm that this is anything more than wishful thinking by fanboys.
