Motorola CEO Ed Zander is likely to be knifed in a
shareholder revolt against his rule.
The campaign, which is backed by four other board members,
is being led by a group of small investors who say that the company needs
reform.
According to Associated Press, the campaign is also
finding some support on Wall Street, with one analyst saying that Zander's days
were numbered and the catcalls and the cries for him to step down, or be fired,
were only going to grow.
Motorola's stunning decline started last year when
aggressive attempts to increase market share by lowering phone prices
backfired.
Now the company is expected to announce that its
struggling mobile phone business will be unprofitable at least until
2008.
